Due to the recent huricanes that affected New Orleans, Huricane Katrina & Huricane Rita, future venues are still up in the air.  I am happy to say that myself and many of my friends and family have survived.  We look forward to an even better New Orleans and Jazz community in the near future.

I will soon be releasing a new recording on CD that will feature some of the phenominal jazz piano of Jim Hession, along with Mark Brooks on Bass and Richard Taylor on Drums.  Watch for it.

Your host, Jack Maheu

As of March 25th, 2006, we are sorry to report that Jack suffered a stroke which weakened his left side.  He is currently undergoing rehab treatment in New Orleans and seeing several specialists.  It is hoped that his prognosis will alllow for him to once again be on the bandstand with his clarinet.  Jack is in an assisted living home in New Orleans.

We would like to call attention to a web site that honours a band that is near and dear to many players and fans of Dixieland and that tradional jazz that is so American, yet has spread worldwide. The Salt City 5 and The Salt City 6. Please visit:  http://www.saltcity56.com
